Please Note: Saturday and Sunday do not count as shipping days with UPS. Some items such as custom dog tags may delay your order. Some items require extra shipping charges where indicted.
Please Note: While a package being shipped via UPS's services can be tracked at any time, postal shipments cannot. If a package shipped through the postal system is delayed, it will take at least 30 days to determine if the package is lost or is still in route. Postal packages sent from Dogs Afield are insured and we guarantee delivery. However, no package that is delayed can be reshipped until the U.S. Post Office has resolved the first package’s status and settled an insurance claim (sometimes an additional thirty-day process). While the above scenario is rare - it is a possibility. The customer pays all shipping, insurance and customs fees, and assumes responsibility for any lost shipments to countries that don't allow us to insure shipments within their borders.
We are aware that our customers have concerns regarding the use of credit cards over the Internet. We share your concern and have provided the ability to encrypt your transactions using our Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) ensuring that your ordering information remains private, protected, and secure. This means that your name, address, credit card numbers and any other information you provide through our SSL, cannot be read by anyone else. In order for you to take advantage of this technology, you must be using an SSL-enabled browser. So you can rest assured that your credit card information is safe and protected (Much more safe than using your credit card at a store or restaurant!).
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. Congress passed this law in 1975 to help consumers resolve disputes with creditors and to ensure fair handling of credit accounts.
What is SSL?
SSL, or secured sockets layer, is a program layer that was created to ensure that data transferred between a client (your computer) and a server (our computer) remains private by encrypting it. When a client and server connect via a secured sockets layer, the client authenticates the server and then they agree on the security keys that they will use for the session. After this connection has been established, SSL encrypts and decrypts all information passing between the two computers (client requests and server responses).
How can I tell if my computer is connected via SSL?
When you click on the 'proceed to checkout' button on our web site, you are taken to the secured area automatically. You will notice that the URL heading is now HTTPS in the URL window, and a closed padlock icon appears at the bottom of the browser. If you are using a browser that does not have support for HTTP over SSL, you will not be able to access URLs beginning with HTTPS. These non-SSL browsers will simply not allow the submission of forms that require secure submission.
Should you have any questions and/or concerns about our privacy/security policies, you can contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
